Enabling The Remote Registry Service

Remote Registry is a service that among all, enable you to shutdown or restart a computer than is in your network using the Shutdown Event utility. So without activating the service on the computer you wish to shutdown or restart remotely, you as an admin cannot use the Shutdown Event Tracker to remotely restart or shutdown the computer.
The tutor below is an easy guide that will show you the process of activating it in the computer you want to shutdown or restart remotely.

  1. Open the Run dialog box and type in services.msc and then click the  Enter button.
    To open the Run dialog box, press the Windows + R keys in your keyboard.

  2. When the Service windows displays, scroll down to the R section and double-click on Remote Registry.

  3. In the Startup type option box in the next dialog box that will open select Automatic. Then click the OK button to apply.

Note that before you can perform this action of enabling the Remote Registry service, you need to be logged into the computer as an Admin, or as a user with Administrative rights.
