I Just Want To Replicate A Formatting Of A Text | Microsoft Word 2016

Before I learnt of the function to the Format Painter command of the Clipboard group in the Home tab, what I do if I want a particular format of a text to apply to another is, I will copy the text with the format and paste it either in the front or back of the text I want the format to apply to and then I will start editing the text I just pasted. But after I learnt the function of the Format Painter, I am saved much stress.

This means that, if you want to replicate just the formatting of a text, then the command you need to use it the Format Painter which is found in the Clipboard group of the Home tab. This is how to use it.
  1. Select the text with the format you want to copy or replicate.
  2. Now go to the ribbon and click on the Format Painter icon, or you can use the format painter keyboard shortcut which is Ctrl+Shift+C.
  3. Once you do, the cursor will change to brush.
Now use it to select the text you want to format to be applied to, and it will.
Note that, in step 2 above, if you use Ctrl+Shift+C the cursor will not change, so when you select the text you want the format to be applied to, you need to press Ctrl+Shift+V to apply. This is most useful when you want to apply to format to more than one group of text in the document.
