OneDrive In Windows 10 Is Uninstallable

If you do not need it, activate it. OneDrive is a component of Windows 10 and not an app that is offered in Windows 10. Thus OneDrive in Windows 10 can be perfectly liken to the File Explorer in Windows 10.

Since no one cannot say they want do uninstall File Explorer because without it, then document saved in your hard disk will not be accessible, in like manner OneDrive cannot be removed from Windows 10 operating system just like other app can.

But if you do not need it any more and you have activated it before, you can disable it, and the tweak below will help you out.

  1. Open Windows 10 Run dialog box by pressing the Window key + R button in your keyboard.

  2. Type gpedit.msc into the Run dialog box and click OK, to open Windows 10 Local Group Policy Editor dialog box.

  3. At the left section of the box which is the folder section under Local Computer Section, expand:
    1. Computer Configuration
    2. Administrative Templates
    3. Windows Components
    4. and click on the OneDrive folder.

  4.  Next, under the Settings section of the OneDrive screen, double click on the Prevent the usage of OneDrive for file storage option.

  5. When the Prevent the usage of OneDrive for file storage dialog box opens, check the Enable radio box and Finally click the OK button.
That is it, you have successfully disable or deactivated OneDrive from your computer, and thus, it will no longer be able to:
  • Access OneDrive from the OneDrive app and file picker.

  • Your Windows Store apps will not be able to access OneDrive using the WinRT API.

  • OneDrive will disappear in the navigation pane in File Explorer.

  • You will not be able to automatically upload photos and videos from the camera roll folder.
 The Main Point
OneDrive is a Windows 10 component, hence it cannot be uninstalled from Windows 10 just like other app that you install can. What you can only do is to disable or deactivate it, and the steps outlined above are the steps required to disable OneDrive in your PC.
