Sympathy Might Just Be What Is Needed

Sometimes what we need is someone to sympathize and/or comfort us. This fact is easily seen in children.

A child might be crying fervently, probably because he hurt himself, but the moment to call the child near, enquire what happened and tell the child sorry. You will notice that if not immediately but not long from the time you tell the child sorry, the child will stop crying.

Not because the pain has gone away, but because the strength that comes from tender words of sympathy can contend pain. So always have this in mind: "Sometimes what people need is not someone that will quickly offer solution [though it is important] but someone who will sympathize and/or comfort them."
