How To Check The Version Of DirectX Your Windows Computer Is Running

The version of DirectX which your computer is running can be found in the System tab of the DirectX Diagnostic Tool. To launch/open this DirectX Diagnostic Tool, do the following:

  1.   Open the Command prompt of your Computer
  2. Type in dxdiag into the Command prompt and hit the Enter button in your keyboard
  3. If you see a box asking if you want to check if you check if your drivers are digitally signed? Choose any option of your choice but we recommend you choose yes even if you are not connected, The box is similar to the one below
Once done, the DirectX Diagnostic Tool window will appear with the System tab selected by default as shown in the image below.

 If the System tab is not select by default, select it and then, Check under the System Information section and you will see the version of DirectX your computer in running in the DirectX version line.
