Why Use "Nofollow" tag On Links In Sponsored Reviews


You a blogger? An online editor/publisher who own a website? How popular is your blog/website in your niche? If you have receive an invitation to review a product? If you have, then you are quite noticed.

But the fact is that sponsored review is a form of online marketing, that is why any company that invite bloggers/publishers to write a review for their product will will most times if not always gives an incentive, be it monetary or free products in return.

But when writing the review you should be careful with how you handle links in the post to the company’s site, the company’s social media accounts, an online merchant’s page that sells the product,  a review service’s page featuring reviews of the product, and/or the company’s mobile app on an app store.

The reason, such linkage can get your blog or website banned from google search database. Only if the nofollow tag is not found in the link.

So when you are linking in a sponsored review blog post always remember to add rel="nofollow" attribute to the <a> tag. If you do not, Google will consider the link as part of link scheme and a violation of their Webmaster Guidelines. And that means your blog/website will be banned.
