Things To Remember When Attempting To Encrypt Or Password Protect Your Local File Or Folder

Sometimes the major thing standing between your PC data and bad guys (Hackers) is encryption, or in other word, protecting the data with a password.

Encrypting is good. True. But that does not mean that you should because of this fact rush into encrypting your files without pondering over these necessary facts.

True, encryption is meant for protecting your data. But the fact is, there is no such thing as 100% protected data/file. This is because encryption can be breached, and there exist more than enough tools, utilities and instructions on how encryption breaching can be achieved. Though encryption is still one major tool you can use to protect your data from hackers/unauthorized access.

Passwording or encrypting your local file/folder in your PC dose not mean that that file/folder cannot be deleted or moved. So if the file or folder you encrypted is really sensitive, it will be a good ideal/action to also install and use the services of programs that prevent file/folders from being deleted or moved.

You have lost the file if you forget the password you use for the encryption. That is the simple truth. So if you are not ready or willing to spend time attempting to breach the encryption or pay someone to do it for you, then it is not a bad ideal for you to keep a backup of the unprotected file or folder.
