Manipulating The Color of Command Prompt

Are you a frequent user of the Command Prompt utility of Windows? If yes, then you will agree with me that Command Prompt is really a great tool.
But have you ever wondered, since Command Prompt offers you the ability to tweak virtually anything in Windows and your Computer, can the color scheme of the Command Prompt be tweaked, manipulated or changed from the traditional Black and White to another color of choice?
If you did wonder, or just curios, then I have great news to share.

Yes, you can change the color scheme of Command Prompt. Both the background and foreground (i.e. the text) color can be changed.

You can change it using this command line
Color [attr]
[attr] should be replaced with the letter or number that represent the color of your choice.
 The full list of colors in the Color Picker that can be applied in Command Prompt
    0 = Black       8 = Gray
    1 = Blue         9 = Light Blue
    2 = Green       A = Light Green
    3 = Aqua        B = Light Aqua
    4 = Red          C = Light Red
    5 = Purple      D = Light Purple
    6 = Yellow     E = Light Yellow
    7 = White       F = Bright White
Changing The Foreground Color
To change the foreground color, that is, the text-color of Command Prompt, use the following command line.
Color [attr]
[attr] should be replaced with the letter or number that represent the color of your choice.
Example: color 4 if you want Red foreground

color E if you want Lite Yellow foreground

Changing the Background Color
 You cannot change the background color of Command Prompt alone. You will have to change/specify both the background and text-color when executing the command line needed to change the color.
To perform this, use the following command line.
Color [attr][attr]
[attr] should be replaced with the letter or number that represent the color of your choice.
Note that the first [attr] is use to specify the background color while the second is for the text-color.
Example: color F4 if you want Bright White background and Red text-color

color 89 if you want Gray background and Lite Blue text-color
