What Does It Mean To Hibernate A Computer?

I know, for a computer guru like you, you might say this is among the fundamentals of computer, and you are right to say so. But the fact is, this question was just asked me. So I decide to put up this post to clarify newbies to computing what this term means. But this does not mean that if you are a guru then you do not to continue, you should because it might just serve as a reminder.

So what is the term Hibernate?
Simply put, to hibernate a computer means to put turn of the computer completely without closing and loosing the things you were doing before the computer was turned off (that is Shutdown)
This means that, when you you hibernate a computer, you are telling the computer's operating system OS to automatically save all the things you are currently doing and shutdown then computer, so that when you turn it on later, the OS will automatically restore everything you were everything you were doing in your previous computing session.

For example, let us suppose that you were creating a document and when on page 3 or any other page, you decided to hibernate the computer and you forgot to save the document. When you turn on the computer again, you will still still see that document. In fact, the insertion point will still be where it was before you hibernate.
So you can call hibernation a life saver when you computer needs to go off, because you will not loose the progress point of any thing you were doing.
