Hide And Unhide Row or Columns | Microsoft Excel 2016


Have you ever been in a situation whereby after preparing a workbook, you do not want a particular row(s) or column(s) to be printed along with the rest of the workbook content? Or is it that you do not want the person previewing the workbook to see a particular row(s) or column(s)? If any of this is the case, or if your wanting to hide a row(s) or column(s) is of another reason not mentioned above, you can and we are going to explain to you how you can hide and unhide row or column in a worksheet using MS Excel 2016.





How To Hide Column(s)
  1. Select the entire column(s) by clicking on the column header.
    If you want to hide more than one column which is not adjacent (adjoining) to each other, then do the following
      1. Select the first column.
      2. Press down the Ctrl key in your keyboard.
      3. Then click on the column header of the next column while still holding down the Ctrl key.
         
  2. After you have done selecting, right-click on the selected column header and click on the Hide option in the right-click menu that will display.

How To Hide Row(s)
  1. Select the entire row(s) by clicking on the column header.
    If you want to hide more than one row which is not adjacent (adjoining) to each other, then do the following
      1. Select the first row.
      2. Press down the Ctrl key in your keyboard.
      3. Then click on the row header of the next column while still holding down the Ctrl key.
         
  2. After you have done selecting, right-click on the/a selected row header and click on the Hide option in the right-click menu that will display.
Note: When you hide a row or column, Excel 2016 adds a double line indicator at the row or column header where the column or row is hidden. This is to remind you that there is a column or row that is hidden there.

How To Unhide Column(s) or Row(s)
  1. Select the columns across the the hidden column.
    For example: if the column B is hidden, then select column A and C by clicking on the column A header and then drag to C.
     
  2. Right-click on the selected column header and click on the Unhide option in the right-click menu.
How To Unhide Row(s)
  1. Select the rows across the the hidden column.
    For example: if the row 3 is hidden, then select row 2 and 4 by clicking on the row 2 header and then drag to 4.
     
  2. Right-click on the selected row header and click on the Unhide option in the right-click menu.

It is so easy to hid and unhide row(s) and column(s) right?...
