6 Text Selecting Option Avaliable In Microsoft Word


Text selecting is the act of specifying which text in your Word document you want a formatting option that you are about to perform to apply to. This (Text selection) is to some extent considered as one of the important fundamentals when working with The MS Word program, because without it, formatting already typed text in the document will prove virtually impossible. For this reason, we have compile together these six easy to remember selection  option for you.




1st Option:
Selecting a Single Word: Selecting a single word to us is considered the simplest of the selecting options, because all you need do is to double click on the word.

2nd Option:
Selecting The Entire Line: To selecting the entire text in a line, place the insertion point at the beginning of the line, and while pressing down the Shift key, hit the End  key in the keyboard.
OR
Place the insertion point at the end of the line, and while pressing down the Shift key, hit the Home key in the keyboard.

3rd Option:
Selecting The Entire Sentence or Paragraph: Place the insertion point at the beginning of the paragraph and while still pressing down the left key in of the mouse, move/drag the cursor to the end of the paragraph or sentence (This option is popularly known as the click and drag option).
OR
Place the insertion point at the beginning of the paragraph, press down the Shift, move the cursor to the end of the paragraph or sentence and click while still pressing down the shift key (this two process explained here can also be used with option 1 & 2).

4th Option:
Selecting Multiple Word In A Paragraph/Sentence: To select more than one word in a paragraph or sentence that are not adjacent to each other, do this. Select the first word using and options outlined above, after the first word selection, press down the Ctrl key in the keyboard, and then using the click and drag option, select the other word(s) while still pressing down the Ctrl key.

5th Option:
Selecting Word(s) Next To Each Other Using The Keyboard: Place the insertion point at the beginning of the word you want to start selection from, press down the Ctrl and Shift button down, and while still having them press down, start hitting the left arrow key.

6th Option:
 Selecting The Entire Document: To select the entire document, just press Ctrl + A and the entire document will be selected.
OR
Place the insertion point at the beginning, and while having the Ctrl and Shift keys pressed down, hit the End button in the keyboard.

Note: while these options outline here is geared toward text selection in Microsoft Word PC program, it can also be used with regard to any word processing or text document reading program.
