Why They Are Called Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs)






Some diseases known to many are referred to as Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) mainly because those diseases can be contacted through sexual contact (sex). But the fact is, Sex is not the only STDs get Transmitted.

Take for example HIV/AIDS which is one of the most popular STDs known by humans. True HIV/AIDS is a Sexually Transmitted Disease next can be transmitted through sex, but sex is not the only way through which one can contract HIV/AIDS, for it have been scientifically proven that, simple actions like sharing sharp objects with one who have the disease can lead to the transmission of the disease.


The Main Point
Just because someone have or is diagnosed with STD does not mean that the individual have engage in illicit sex. Diseases termed STDs and not only Transmitted through sex. So be very cautious before drawing conclusions.
