A Common Feature Of Email Account Theft

Theft of email account is rampant, and your email account is not immune to it. This does not mean that your email account can be easily hacked by someone making the attempt, at least not if you make it easy for the person.

While it is easy sometimes to know if your email account have been hacked, most times it is not that easy to know. It all depend on the activities of the person who hacked your email account. Because sometimes your email account password can be changed by the person who hack the account, other times, the person might not change it. Also your account information including your contacts and your saved mail can be erased, sometimes the hacker will not erase them. It all depend on the person who have successfully hacked your email.

So do not think that just because there seems not to be a suspicious activity on your email account then your email security has not been compromised. It might. Because though an email account thieve might not be interested in high-jacking your email account from you completely, they are sure to use it as a means of sending spam, especially to your contacts.

So if suddenly people (especially those in your contact list) start getting mails from "You" which you are certain it is not you that send them, then know that your email account have been hacked.

The Main Point
If there seems to be no suspicious activity on your email account, but people are telling/complaining to you of sending them mails which you are sure that it is not you that send it, then know that your account have been hack. So take practical step on ensuring that you gain back the full control of your email account back. Because not all email account thieves are interested us stealing your email account from you completely, but they are sure to use it to send spams.
